1. Wake up Early: -Don’t hit that snooze button. Waking up early is your first win of the day. Next you have to drink water, it helps your body to recover from nightly dehydration.
2. Breathing Exercise: - You can do any controlled breathing exercise for 15 mins but what I recommend is Wim Hoff breathing method. Start with deep inhalation and exhalation up to 30 cycles followed by 1 minute breath hold on the last exhalation. Inhale again after a minute, followed by a 15 second breath hold. Repeat this for 3 rounds. You can increase your breath hold time as per you capacity. Wim hoff method is a scientifically proven method which decreases your cortisol levels and increases dopamine, the happiness hormone, while enhancing the immune system.
3. Physical Movement– Energize your body in the morning. Break a sweat. Go to the gym and lift some weights. You don’t have to spend hours. You can do major compound exercises which can be done in 30 mins. If you can’t go to the gym, you can do 50 pushups and 50 situps at your home. You can go for a run to get good cardio. Do something, don’t just sit idle. Exercise will help you get better both physically and mentally.
4. Cold Shower – A cold Shower will rejuvenate you. Benefits of cold shower include:-
a. Reduction in inflammation.
b. Better muscle recovery.
c. Increase in your dopamine levels (up to 250%).
5. Nutrition – Take a balanced diet filled with carbs, protein, fat and fiber.
6. Night time ritual: - Switch off your devices 1 hour before your bedtime. This is your “me time”. Use this time for self-reflection. Writing a daily journal and getting at least 7 hours of sleep will help.
